Old Testament abstracts

Provides indexing and abstracts of scholarly resources for Old Testament studies, including journal articles, monographs, multi-author works, and software related to Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) studies. All abstracts are in English, regardless of the language of the original work. Contains some full text. Comparatively limited (but effective) search features: does not have a scholarly journals limiter, but does provide a scripture citation search feature and publication type limiter. A publication search option enables users to narrow searching to the contents of a specific journal title. Some overlap of coverage between ATLA Religion and this resource. However, much of its coverage is unique. Most useful for researchers in Old Testament studies, ancient near eastern studies, Jewish origins, Old Testament apocrypha, and Palestinian archaeology. Oxford biblical studies online

Functions as an electronic clearing house for OUP's publications in Bible and Biblical studies. Brings together and makes electronically available, a wide variety of OUP published resources including study Bibles (e.g. Oxford Study Bible, Jewish Study Bible), articles from OUP produced reference works (Oxford Encyclopedia of the Bible, Oxford Encyclopedia of Archaeology in the Near East, etc.), and biblical study tools (Concise Concordance to New Revised Standard Version). Also included are OUP published commentaries (one volume, whole Bible commentaries), biblical timelines, bibliographies, and thematic guides. This resource is a good starting point for those new to the field, researching unfamiliar topics. However, it is not a one stop shop.
