Patrologiae cursus completus. Series Graeca

Provides full-text access to the printed works of Greek Christian writers down to the Council of Florence (1438- 39). This is a collection of the writings of the church leaders who wrote in Greek, including both the Eastern "Fathers" and those Western Christians who wrote before the Latin takeover of the West in the third century. The texts are generally interlaced with one column of Greek and a corresponding column on the other side of the page that is the Latin translation. Where the Greek has been lost, such as in Irenaeus, the full text appears only in Latin, and the extant Greek fragments of the work are interspersed throughout the Latin text. This is a full- text library of resources rather than a full-text database. Using the “Control” and “F” keys will bring up a rudimentary search engine. But searchability extends no farther than author searching of the HTML links. Scrolling down the entry list is only slightly less efficient. Full text is in JPG format, which makes electronic text capture problematic. Not a challenge for the Greek and Latin literate per se, but those requiring translation apps will have to key in the text themselves. Coverage is from the 2nd century CE to 1438-39 CE. People of the founding era

Enables users to search the various papers and documents contained in the University of Virginia’s Founding Era full-text documents to identify individuals and their connections. Prosopography is the study of groups of people (grouped by gender, occupation, birth year, and other key data points) to study the group itself, not just the individuals. This database enables users to identify connections, patterns, etc. through a keyword search, with limits for gender, birth/death year, occupation, religion, and geographical region to better enable such a prosopographical study. The data is less robust for women, slaves, and Native Americans due to the nature of the historical record, but is still useful for identifying patterns among these groups. References to the primary sources in the Founding Era documents (which Baylor also owns digitally) makes finding the context for the individual very easy. Interactive, visual graphs of connections are provided. Brief biographies are provided for all individuals and the data on each person is presented in the same way so that searches can be more effective. The People of the Founding Era is still a work in progress with information being added regularly

Philosophy documentation center collection

Essentially this product brings together and makes accessible in one place, the contents of all titles distributed by the Philosophy Documentation Center. Titles subscribed by BU Libraries are full text accessible (retrospective to full text accessible or retrospective only full text accessible) unsubscribed titles are citation accessible only. The opening link defaults to a display page listing all titles available from the service. However, the resource is keyword searchable. And in "Advanced Search" mode (displayed only after a simple search has been run), title, text, author and abstract search options are available as well as a date range limiter. Dwarfed in coverage scope by the Philosopher's Index, this resource does have some unique content (though PI overlaps the majority of coverage and provides a more substantial amount).
